More storms expected in central Virginia Wednesday

RICHMOND, Va. - Wednesday will be another active day with numerous afternoon storms. These storms will have the potential to become strong to severe with coverage lasting well after sunset. A slight risk (level 2) of severe weather is expected over the entire area. Highs will be near 90° and still humid.

A Flood Watch will be in effect for the Piedmont and Tidewater Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Thursday will finally offer some relief from the heat with highs more seasonable in the upper 80s and lower dew points. Showers and storms will again become likely in the afternoon and evening.

The weekend forecast shows temperatures returning to the 90s with decreased chances of rain.
